Sixth Grade Science Projects

So much to do when a student start to work on any sixth grade science projects, so s/he need to do some preparation before play with materials, recipe, and a series of experiment. This article would like to mention a few examples of projects that will fit with sixth graders. Let’s start with an experiment with crystal.

Growing crystals

As part of sixth grade science projects, the objective is to learn and identify the whole knowledge about crystal form. The main goal is to examine the process behind the formation of crystals.

Sixth Grade Science Projects

About tea

Such experiment requires a student to play with cola, tea and coffee. Aside of these ingredients, s/he also needs egg. The objective is simple: how long cola, tea, or coffee stains your teeth.

Prepare a hybrid species

This experiment requires someone to “play” with fish. Put it in clearer way: the objective is to create a new, hybrid species, using fish. In order to make the experiment successful, a student need to prepare various materials such as extra aquarium, digital camera, aquatic plants, 5 female endlers, 5 male guppies, and 5-10 gallon aquarium with a filter and heater.

Conduct an experiment with milk

What about a glass of milk in the morning? The main goal is to find out how long it takes until the milk becomes stale. What happen when milk is spoiled? In order to find an answer, a student need to prepare various materials such as magnifying glasses, 3 drinking glasses, skim milk, 2% milk, and whole vitamin D milk. With such experiment, 6th graders will meet some terms such as milk content, food spoilage, germs and bacteria.

Play with plants

When we mention “play” as a part of plants experiment, we mean in simply way: a student who work on sixth grade science projects should find out what will happen to a plant when watered using different liquids. A student needs to work with some materials as such: a measuring cup, water, sports drink, cola, juice, milk, potting soil, a marker, 5 containers and seeds.

What we have explained above is only initial information about each experiment that could possibly done by 6th graders easily. You should look out for more information about each experiment through internet and you should find them easily, as there are many websites that provide complete science experiments that would fit with the purpose of sixth grade science projects.
