5 Best Science Projects for 7th Graders

Science projects for 7th graders make the best way to encourage the kids’ inquisitive mind. They like to explore more on a hypothesis and investigate deeper. This can lead into positive learning attitude. However, the projects don’t have to be sophisticated. The following ideas are great to try.

Teeth Stain

You are going to invite the kids to find out if several drinks really create stains on teeth. To represent teeth, you should use eggs. Ask your kids to dip each egg in a glass. There should be three glasses, coffee, tea, and cola. Ask them to watch them every day and take some photos of it.

Self Inflating Balloon

This is simple. Stretch a balloon like when you are going to blow it, and use a funnel to insert baking soda in it. Make sure it reaches the bottom by shaking it. On the other hand, use a test tube and fill it with vinegar, a half should do it. Then, attach the balloon to the tube carefully. The balloon will automatically inflate.

Making Glass Disappear

This is so much fun. Prepare a large clear bowl and a smaller clear cup that can fit inside the bowl. Fill the bowl with baby oil almost the height of the cup. Put the cup inside the bowl. Let your kids monitor if they still can see the cup. Then fill the cup with baby oil too and ask them to see the difference.

Best Absorbent Sponge

You need both the natural and artificial ones. Prepare sponge made of polyester, polyether, polyurethane, sea sponge, and cellulose. Ask the kids to dip it in a bowl filled with water then squeeze the water back into measurement tube. Let them take chart on this and compare the five results.

Prepare at least two balloons for each kid. Ask them to blow one, and lit a lighter beneath. The balloon will pop immediately. Then ask them to fill the balloon with a little water before they blow it. Do the same thing and ask them to tell you the difference.

Those ideas are challenging enough for their level, and it shows them real facts through learning that will stick with them forever. When they make successful project, they will feel smart. This is good. Don’t forget to use chart or report paper, to make it like a pro project, on your science projects for 7th graders.
